The series  Sheared against a backdrop of different social contexts and  histories that  witnessed the torture  against  women who had their hair cut and/or shaved in acts of punishment and humiliation.  These are historical accounts of this practice, for example, the Inquisition,  the Second War, Slavery and the Military Dictatorship.  In that  sense, but with a more current focus, this series proposes to reflect on the  recurrence  of this type of violence in Brazilian states based on facts reported by the press in recent years. At the  Currently, two contexts have been explored: the domestic environment (Shearing #1), in which men practice this act to humiliate and punish their partner, taking her body as property, an object of possession; and drug trafficking (Sheared #2, in process), when members of factions cut and shave women's hair as a way of asserting territorial dominance and applying the penalties of the “criminal court”, if they have disobeyed the “code of ethics”.

The "Shorn" series has different social and historical backgrounds that witnessed the practice of torture against women who had their hair cut and/or shaved in acts of punishment and humiliation. Historical reports of this type of torture are Inquisition, Second War, Slavery and Brazilian Military Dictatorship, for example.
